Browse Tucker County Parcel Maps

Tucker County parcel maps live inside West Virginia's statewide property viewer. The viewer pairs tax parcels with mapping tools and assessment data. A parcel here can be pulled up by address, owner, coordinates, or parcel parts. You can then weigh the shape on screen against the legal description in the deed. Remember the limits. A map is not a survey. A boundary line on screen may not match the deed. The owner shown may not be every owner of record. Treat the map as a way to find the record key. Then search Tucker County property records by parcel number at the source before any boundary or ownership decision.

Reading Tucker County Parcel Maps

The WV Property Viewer blends surface parcels from county assessment mapping with statewide GIS layers. In Tucker County, layer choice matters. Turn on the layer that answers your actual question instead of reading every colored line as a legal boundary. Parcel shapes and tax districts help locate a record. Address labels and community boundaries orient a place. Flood and contour layers add land context.

The detail panel behind a parcel can display a lot: delinquent status, community, E-911 address, external map links, flood information, an assessment-report link, description, owner, physical address, building information, cost values, and appraised values. Save the full district/map/parcel/suffix string with any notes. Keep the county tax map's limits in mind. It shows surface property only, and it may leave out mineral interests and county court splits.

Tucker County Parcel Number Parts

West Virginia's identifier has four segments: district, map, parcel, and suffix. The Viewer shows them as District (two digits), Map (four digits), Parcel (four digits), and Suffix (four digits). The parcel itself gets four digits. Its example is 01 2345-6789-0123. Leading zeroes count. IAS can show a map number without the same padding, so compare carefully. Tucker County publishes no city-specific prefix or map range. You cannot guess a Parsons, Thomas, or Davis parcel from the first digits.

DistrictCounty district segment, displayed as two digits
MapFour-digit map segment
ParcelFour-digit parcel segment
SuffixFour-digit sub-parcel segment where shown

Copy the number exactly as the Viewer displays it. When matching a tax card, map panel, and deed reference, compare the segments rather than the punctuation. The parcel ID is an assessment key, not the legal boundary itself.

Opening a Tucker County Parcel

Search options cover E-911 address, parcel attributes, geometry, and coordinates. Attribute fields include the full parcel ID, parcel parts, owner name, and property address. The identify tool only works after you zoom in far enough. Parcels become selectable at that point. This route moves a place clue to parcel detail. Just do not expect the map to resolve every rural address.

  1. Choose the address, parcel, owner, geometry, or coordinate search that matches the clue.
  2. Set the county context to Tucker and move the map to the candidate parcel.
  3. Zoom until parcel shapes identify, then click the parcel to open its detail panel.
  4. Copy the GIS ID and compare the legal description, physical address, and assessment report.
  5. Save a CSV or KMZ only as a research handoff, then confirm the source document with its custodian.
Parcel
A tax-mapped piece of surface land tied to an assessment record.
Plat
A recorded map that lays out surveyed lots or land divisions.
Metes and bounds
A written land description by measured lines and boundaries.
Easement
A recorded right to use land for a stated purpose.

Tucker County Map Tools

Geometry search lets you draw a Point, Rectangle, or Polygon and set a buffer. Coordinates search takes latitude and longitude. Both help when an address is unknown. They also suit a question about an area rather than one lot. The Viewer also supports share links and print. Copied or generated links work too, and KMZ download is available for a selected parcel. Result rows export as CSV. Search results cap at 1,000. Hovering a result highlights it on the map. Clicking zooms to the parcel and opens basic information. A record with no valid geometry may be flagged. Keep the search URL and GIS ID with a CSV. That way another reader can rebuild the list. The map explains where a parcel sits. But it never settles title or the line between two owners.

The WV Property Viewer is the statewide map route for Tucker County surface parcels.

The viewer screen shows the map shell that holds the search, layer, identify, and export controls.

Tucker County Parcel Detail Panel

Clicking a mapped result opens more than an outline. The selected parcel panel labels owner, physical address, building information, cost values, appraised values, delinquent status, community, E-911 address, description, flood information, and an assessment-report link. One row can show a single owner even when several exist. Trust the detail panel and the assessor report over a short result label.

The selected Tucker County parcel view shows the detail panel and its assessment link.

Use the panel fields to carry a map candidate into IAS. The displayed owner is not necessarily the full ownership list.

Tucker County Plats and Deeds

The County Clerk's land-record page lists plat maps. It publishes no sample book and page references. Ask the clerk for the subdivision name, plat book and page, filing date, map number, and revision or vacation reference. Also ask whether the map is indexed under a developer, surveyor, or landowner. A plat can explain lot and block terms missing from the current GIS label.

For a Tucker County tract described by a stream, old road, district, survey, acreage, or adjoining owner, keep every written clue. Compare it with the recorded deed. A GIS parcel helps orient that description. The recorded plat and deed still govern what was filed. The county offers no open-data GIS download page. The statewide Viewer remains the practical public map route for Tucker County property records.

Finding Tucker County Parcels

A street address that seems solid can still fail in the statewide E-911 search. Rural routes and post office boxes never appear there. When the lookup comes up empty, try the road name in IAS. Look at the parcel geometry itself. Keep in mind that the assessment address field is often incomplete. The situs, meaning where the parcel physically sits, is stored separately from the owner's mailing address. A Parsons mailing label alone proves nothing about whether the land lies inside town limits.

  1. Search the physical address in the WV Property Viewer, including city and state.
  2. If it fails, use IAS street-name search or parcel parts, then open the candidate map result.
  3. Read the community, parcel ID, E-911 address, and legal description in the detail panel.
  4. Use the assessment-report link for value and deed-reference fields, then confirm filed records with the clerk.
Parcel number
The district, map, parcel, and suffix key used in assessment and GIS records.
Plat
A map filed with land records to show lots or surveyed divisions.
Lot and block
A platted location identified by a lot number and block.
Metes and bounds
A written boundary description based on measured lines and landmarks.

Tucker County Surface Map Limits

The WV Property Viewer maps surface parcels across the state. County court splits and mineral interests may be missing from the parcel layer. Separate mineral parcels live with the Mined Mineral GIS Section. A tax parcel is not a survey. It is not a title report, a deed construction, or a boundary adjudication either. Use the map to spot a candidate parcel. Then check it against the legal description. Before land is built on, divided, or disputed, get a current survey. Review the deed and plat with the right professional. Flood layers and contours offer context, never an insurance decision or an engineering finding. Save the exact GIS ID and its source date. Statewide layers can be refreshed on a schedule that does not match county deed instruments.

Tucker County Address Geography

One Tucker County parcel can carry several different geographies at once. The physical address, the E-911 address, the community, the owner's mailing address, and the legal description may all point in different directions. E-911 marks physical location. The mail address tells where correspondence goes. The community layer adds map context. The deed description may preserve an older road, survey, stream, or adjoining landowner. When two records conflict, keep these labels side by side before trusting either one. Annexation material for Parsons includes a minor boundary-adjustment petition tied to Black Fork District. County-held parcel records cover land both inside and outside town. ZIP areas cross municipal edges. The GIS community and tax-class layers narrow the question. The deed and any official boundary exhibit decide what to check next.

What Tucker County Parcel Maps Prove

A Tucker County parcel map shows how the tax parcel appears in the statewide viewer. It can identify the district, map number, parcel, suffix, community, address, and surface outline. It cannot confirm ownership beyond the record of record. Nor can it settle a boundary or reveal every mineral interest. Let the map guide the next record check. Then compare the description in the deed or plat.

Not a survey. WV Property Viewer lines are tax and reference geometry. Before building near a line or resolving a boundary dispute, rely on a licensed survey and the recorded land description, not the screen alone.
